Making sure that progress sticks
Opening an account means we can keep a record of your scores (and nothing but your scores) and you get a dashboard with all the players scores, personal bests and areas to work on (such as which particular word classes are still not quite there). All performance and progress is saved to a nickname, so play picks up where it left off instead of starting cold every time.
